Suprise visit
It all started with a suprise visit from our local Spanish farmer who has his finca on the opposite side of the road from our house. While I should have been busy working on Friday, we were summoned by one of our neigbours to help pick some avocados. We had been given warning of this but we were just expecting to be filling a couple of plastic bags with fruit, it was not to be that easy though…
After 2 hours, 5 trees and countless crates of Avocadoes we were finally finished…
It took 6 people over 2 hours to strip these 5 trees of all the fruit. My granparents picking the fruit from the lower branches, my parents standing on crates, and myself and Frasco, the spanish farmer, left to climb the trees and pick the fruit from the higher branches. All under the very observant and watchful eye of Frasco looking for anything we might have missed on the way round.

Now THAT’S what living in Spain is all about. I’d give anything to pick avocados right now!
