Fire Season Starts Early
Normally a view we expect to see in August, but this year we have started to see it as early as the end of March. Within easy distance of the house there have been 3 fires in a single afternoon, 2 of them easily visible from the house and one hiding behind a hill. Below is a photo of the nearest one, if you look closely you can see the helicopter dropping water over the fire.
It might not look big compared to the fires last year in Greece, but the fact that a fire can take hold so easily and so early on in the season makes me wonder what the summer is going to be like…

Wow! How do these fires start? Is it really hot there already?

Its getting warmer, but I think these must have been set intentionally.
We did find out later that one of the fires was the result of a car burning. I’m not sure what caused the other 2.
